I think Pizza has to fall into that category or morish foods. The more you eat it the more you want. Problem with pizza though, is that we can eat it faster than our bodies can adjust and therefore you can find yourself stuffed to the brim and quiet incapacitated after a good feed. But what the heck, a slice or two of Chucky cheese pizza, or my wife's own deep dish pizza is the highlight of our weekend.

Hmm! Cheese Pizza! The highlight of our weekend

Pizza is perhaps the greatest food ever created. It is a universal product, able to please people of all ages, and even incorporate a giant rat into food marketing campaigns. There are a wide selection of pizza toppings to choose from and being able to pick and choose anything, from pepperoni to anchovies to ham and mushrooms, makes pizza all the more tasty.

But what is the deal with cheese pizza? What’s the point of eating pizza without toppings? Some pizza lovers prefer the simple taste of cheese pizza to the overwhelming taste of topping meats like pepperoni or sausages.

Some pizza lovers are also animal lovers and prefer not to eat any topping derived from cows, pigs or fish. Furthermore, vegans (strict vegetarians) feel uncomfortable eating regular cheese, knowing that small animal ingredients are included in regular dairy products, as well as knowing how cows are treated on the farm. Hence, many vegetarians will shop for substitute cheese and other products that are dairy-free. Pizza Hut, a major pizza chain, has started to sell soy cheese pizzas in selected areas and has received a lot of support from vegetarians.

Skimping on toppings and regular cheese can also help pizza lovers cut down on calories. Many low fat, low calorie pizzas, as well as 100% vegetarian pizzas without regular dairy cheese, are available in large grocery stores. There are soy-based cheese pizza substitutes as well as low cholesterol and lactose free cheese pizza items, for those more concerned with health than vegetarian causes.

Additionally, a lot of folks are now learning how to make pizza by themselves, but personally, the pizzas in this household come under the category of 'convenience' foods and half the fun of pizza is the kicking back and waiting for that knock on the door from the pizza delivery guy.

The cheese pizza is a common item found on any pizza menu, and usually cost about $1-3 less than a full pizza with toppings. What kinds of cheese are used on pizzas? While Mozzarella cheese is the usual favorite, sometimes, special pizza cheese is used in restaurants and on frozen selections that is designed to melt easily and retain its chewy quality. Other cheeses can be added or used in place of the regular cheese, such as smoked Provolone cheese, Romano, Ricotta, and Cheddar cheese, as well as powdered Parmesan cheese which is easy to sprinkle on.

Furthermore, recipes for cheese pizza, soy cheese pizza, and non-soy but still 100% vegetarian cheese pizza products can be found online and printed for free. Now you can make your own cheese pizza rather than having to spend extra money for vegetarian or health food products, or compromise your scruples for the sake of a good pizza meal.

Note that edible cheese pizza should not be confused with the Cheese Pizza Tavern Tour by the Wild Retro Band. While both may be cheesy, delicious and fun, one is a band touring across the Midwest and the other is available in the frozen food section of your favorite store. Only one of two is edible and melts well in a microwave. Cheese pizza is healthy, humane and just as tasty as the classic pizza meal.

So, whether you save Papa Johns pizza coupons and then go out for a family nosh, or just like to grab a Little Caesars pizza for you and your work mates during your lunch break, the pizza has been around ever since most of us can remember, and I don't think it'll be going anywhere soon. The pizza is forever evolving, and should you like a plain cheers pizza or one with the full Monty of toppings, I think we're going to continue to see wonderful variations of this quick dish for years to come
